Jeanne d'Arc Martin

SAINT-LOUIS-DE-KENT, NB – Jeanne d’Arc Martin 78, of Saint-Louis-de-Kent passed away peacefully at the Villa Maria in Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Wednesday, January 13, 2016.  Born in Guimond Village, NB she was the daughter of the late Cyprien Guimond and late Minnie (Cormier) Guimond.  Before retiring, Jeanne d’Arc was employed as a school teacher and kindergarten teacher as well as a babysitter for many local children.  She was also a housekeeper for the St. Louis parish. 

Jeanne d’Arc will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Marguerite Martin of Saint-Charles, Linda Martin of Fredericton; one son, Paul Martin of Saint-Louis; five grandchildren, Camille Martin (Alexander Brown), Ashley Martin, Gina Martin, Amy Graham (Matt) and Josée Haché. 

She is also survived by four sisters, Hilda Daigle (late Tilmon) of Saint-Louis, Berthile Daigle (late Paulo) of Saint-Louis, Anne Daigle of Saint-Louis, Dorca Doucet (Ligouri) of Beresford; three brothers, Jean Guimond of Saint-Louis, Oswald Guimond (Patsy) of Saint-Charles, Gilles Guimond (Anne) of Saint-Louis and many nieces and nephews. 

Besides his parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Rodrigue and infant Gérard. 

Visitation will be held at Thompson Memorial Home, Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9, Thursday at 9:30 am until departure for the funeral.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 11:30 am, St. Louis des Français Roman Catholic Church, Saint-Louis-de-Kent.  Donations in Jeanne d’Arc’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice or a donation of lipstick, nail polish or earrings to the funeral home, to be distributed to nursing homes, would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
