Carman Fillmore

BEERSVILLE, NB – Carman Fillmore, 91, the loving husband of the late Minnie (Glencross) Fillmore for over 60 years, of Foyer P’Tit Chenous Inc., Ste. Anne de Kent, (formerly of Beersville) passed away peacefully with his loving family gathered by his side at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent on Friday, January 29, 2016.  Born in Deer Ridge, Saskatchewan, he was the son of the late Harvey Fillmore and late Minnie (Dunn) Fillmore.  

Before retiring, Carman was employed as a carpenter and farmer.  He was caretaker of St. James Presbyterian Church and Cemetery for many years.  Carman’s faith in God gave him great comfort.  He read his bible everyday and always ended each day with the Lord’s prayer.

 

Carman will be sadly missed by his daughter, Darlene Mourant (Robert) of Jardineville; two sons, Edward Fillmore of Beersville, Tom Fillmore (Gail) of Beersville; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren, his dog, Laddie and horse Elvin.

 

He is also survived by two sisters, Pelma Steeves (late John) of Moncton, Vivian Bell (late Boyd) of Newcastle; one brother, Alfred Fillmore (late Althea) of Clairville and many nieces and nephews. 

 

He was predeceased by his wife Minnie (Glencross) Fillmore; one grandson, Jonathan "Jono"; three sisters, Margaret, Florence, Edna and three brothers, Walter, Lloyd and William.

 

Visitation will be held at St. James Presbyterian Church, Beersville on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm.  A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 2:00 pm, St. James Presbyterian Church, Beersville, offiiciated by Rev. A. D. Sutherland and assisted by Rev. Cecil Symes.  Interment will be held at a later date.  Donations in Carman’s memory may be made to St. James Presbyterian Church or Cemetery or NB Lung Association.  (Please note - this will be a scent free environment). Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
