Melida Richard

RICHIBOUCTOU-VILLAGE, NB – Mélida Richard 86 of Bouctouche, NB passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent on Saturday, January 30, 2016.  She was the daughter of the late Adelard Boucher and late Obéline (Cormier) Boucher.  Before retiring, Mélida was employed as a fish plant worker.  She was a member of the Richibouctou-Village Club d’age D’or and attended  St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church. 

Mélida will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Anne-Marie Savoie (late Bernard) of Ste. Anne de Kent, Hélène Maillet (Roger) of Bouctouche; one son, Gérard (Ginette) of Fredericton; five grandchildren, Isabelle, Rachelle, Lisa, Jessica, Gabriel and four great grandchildren, Mia, Paxton, Damien and Joel. 

She is also survived by two sisters, Victorine Robichaud (Tilmon) of Rexton, Thérèse Babineau (Arthur) of Bouctouche, several brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Oscar Richard; one son, Donald, one infant daughter, Maria; five sisters, Bertha, Rosée, Mélina, Melda, Violet and seven brothers, Emery, Harvey, Paul, Joseph, Ernest, Aurèle and Allison. 

Visitation will be held at the St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room on Thursday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm until time of the funeral.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 4:00 pm, St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village.  Interment will be held at a later date.  Donations in Mélida’s memory may be made to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation.  Thank you to Jean-Marie & Wanda at Foyer Jean-Marie Allain for their excellent care.  (Please note that a luncheon will be served at noon prior to the funeral).  Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, (523-4252).
