Adéoda  Daigle

ALDOUANE, NB – Adéoda Daigle 92, of Aldouane passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne-de-Kent on Sunday, May 15, 2016.  Born in St. Charles, NB he was the son of the late Antoine and late Laura (Daigle) Daigle.  Adéoda worked his entire life in and around Kent County building roads and working as a woodcutter on his lands.  He was very proud when some of his fir trees were chosen to be donated to the cities of Fredericton and Boston as their town Christmas trees.  He retired in 1988 but continued to cultivate Christmas trees until a few years ago. 

Adéoda will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Yvette (Richard) Daigle of Aldouane; four daughters, Denise Daigle of Aldouane, Monique Daigle of St. Louis, Gisèle Daigle (Regilles) of St. Charles, Louise Johnson (Jean-Guy) of Alberta; three sons, Jean-Paul Daigle of Alberta, Claude Daigle (Suzanne) of Alberta, Marc Daigle (Sarah) of Aldouane; seven grandchildren, Stéphane, Jean-Yves, Chantal, Serge, Jolyne, Daniel, Julie and four great grandchildren, Marco, Luka, Alissa and Jacob. 

He is also survived by four sisters, Catherine Berubé (late Paul) of Montreal, Yvonne LeBlanc (late Emile) of California, Bernadette Daigle of Montreal, Bernice Brideau (Claude) of Montreal; one brother, Joseph Daigle (Rhéa) of Moncton; brother-in-law, Henri Richard; several cousins, nephews and nieces. 

He was predeceased by one infant daughter, Gisèle; two sisters, Rose-Délima, Carmelle and one brother, Nazaire. 

Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, Thursday at 2:00 pm until departure for the funeral.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 4:00 pm, St. Charles Borromée Roman Catholic Church, Saint-Charles.  In lieu of flowers donations in Adéoda’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or charity of the donor’s choice.  The family wish to express a special thank you to Dr. Michelle LeBlanc and the staff at the Stella Maris Hospital for their kind and compassionate care of Adéoda.  Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
