Rachel Marion Augustine

INDIAN ISLAND, NB – Rachel Augustine 60, of Indian Island passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste-Anne-de-Kent on Sunday, June 12, 2016.  Born in Indian Island, she was the daughter of the late Alexander Brooks and Mary Ann Barlow.  Rachel attended the Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Roman Catholic Church in Indian Island and was a choir member for many years. 

Rachel will be sadly missed by her mother, Mary Ann Barlow; husband, George Harris Augustine; two daughters, Eva Arnahungak (Jason), Germaine Kakekagumick (Rick); four sons, Barry Augustine (Noreen), Tyson Augustine (Chantal), Raymond Augustine (Susie), Justus Augustine all of Elsipogtog; nine grandchildren and 3 Godchildren. 

She is also survived by five sisters, Grace Brooks of Indian Island, Imelda Brooks, Pauline Paul, Janice Paul, Rosie Paul, Mary Jane Brooks; three brothers, John Brooks, Michael Paul & Gregory Paul all of Shubenacadie, NS; sister-in-law, Loretta Brooks of Shubenacadie, NB and many nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her father, Alexander and one brother, Raymond. 

Resting at her home at 33 Spruce Street, Indian Island beginning on Thursday at 1:00 pm until time of the funeral.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 18 at 11:00 am, Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Roman Catholic Church, Indian Island.  Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
