Alphonse Daigle

RICHIBUCTO, NB – Alphonse Daigle 92, of Richibucto passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste-Anne-de-Kent on Saturday, July 9, 2016.  Born in Kent Lake, NB he was the son of the late Antoine V. Daigle and late Sarah (Leger) Daigle. Alphonse was employed at the Irving Pulp & Paper Mill in Saint John for 25 years and then he changed careers to be a lumberjack until the young age of 73 years. 

Alphonse will be sadly missed by his four daughters, Odette Hickey (Dennis) of Smithtown, Joan Vautour (Louis) of Riverview, Cathy Daigle (Maurice) of Saint John, Susan Crowell (Blair) of Saint John; two sons, Ivan (Maria) of Lakeville, Michael (Julie) of Saint John; fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. 

He is also survived by three sisters, Bernadette LeBlanc (late Lionel) of Moncton, Cecile Pietraszko (Pete) of Aldouane, Germaine Comeau (late Roger) of Richibucto; two brothers, Romeo (Lorraine Leger) of Barachois, Ernest (Stella) of Moncton and several nieces and nephews. 

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one grandson, Ronald Daigle; five brothers, Ben, René, Alderic, Roger, Gérald and six sisters, Beatrice, Alma, Rose-Eva, Aline, Bertha and Marguerita. 

Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, Wednesday at 9:00 am until departure for the funeral.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 11:00 am, St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church in Richibucto.  Donations in Alphonse’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
