Alonzo Mazerolle

RICHIBUCTO, NB – Alonzo Mazerolle 79, of Richibucto passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, July 18, 2016.  Born in Pointe-Sapin, he was the son of the late Prudent Mazerolle and late Suzanne (Doiron) Mazerolle.  Before retiring, Alonzo was employed as a boat builder.  He attended St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church in Richibucto. 

Alonzo will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Sharon Marson (Gary) of Richibucto, Denise Mazerolle (Paula Richard) of Fredericton; one son, Robert "Bobby" Mazerolle (Suzanne Lavoie) of Chicoutimi, Quebec; four step-sons, Roy (Anne), Normand, Robert (Rhéa) and Raymond (Lynne); three grandchildren, Cody, Corinne, Alex; four step-grandchildren, Rachel, Aurèle, Gaston, Régis; one step-great granddaughter, Zoey and another step-great granddaughter on the way. 

He is also survived by four sisters, Aline Richard (Georges), Maria Richard (late Guy) both of Rexton, Bernice Richard (Paul) of Richibouctou-Village, Margaret Mazerolle (Greg Beers) of Jardineville; five brothers, Odilon (Andrea) of Richibucto, Jean (Della) of Rexton, Iris (Geraldine) of Cap Lumiere, Rhéal "Ralph" (Marlene) of Rexton, Henri (Joan Glencross) of Rexton and a great many nieces and nephews.  

He was predeceased by his wife Marguerite (Robichaud) Mazerolle; partner of many years, Rosanna Mazerolle; several siblings, most recently his sister, Anne-Marie MacDonald and one brother, Edgar that Alonzo gave the gift of life to by donating one of his kidneys. 

Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, Friday at noon until departure for the funeral.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 2:00 pm, St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church in Richibucto.  Donations in Alonzo’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.  The family wish to express a sincere thank you to the staff at Extra Mural, Le Havre, Stella Maris Hospital, Red Cross, Mgr. Henri-Cormier Lodge, and Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Oncology Unit for the expectional care they provided to Alonzo; your kindness and compassion is greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten.  Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
