George Ryan

BASS RIVER, NB – George Ryan, age 68, passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste-Anne-de-Kent on Wednesday, September 21, 2016.  Born in Bass River, he was the son of the late Harold Ryan and late Irma (Campbell) Ryan.  

George will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Brittney Ryan (Nick Vautour) of Moncton, Alissa Ryan (Hank Roberts) of Bass River; one step-daughter, Carla Flanagan (Shelly) of Memramcook; one step-son, Derrick Fearon of Bass River; mother-in-law, Beulah Flanagan of Moncton, a special grandson that was like a son to him, Rylie Ryan; three grandchildren, Deegan Vautour, Elle Vautour and Xavier Basque. 

He is also survived by three sisters, Willah Ryan, Olive Ward (Walter) both of Bass River, Lois McDermott (late Freeman) of Targetville; four brothers, Gary Ryan (Sheila) of Molus River, Leonard Ryan (Gisele), Danny Ryan (Lynn), Robert Ryan (Brenda) all of Bass River and several nieces and nephews. 

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Shirley (Flanagan) Ryan and one sister, Carolyn Spencer. 

Visitation will be held at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church in Bass River

on Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and Friday at 1:00 pm until time of the service.  A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm, St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, Bass River officiated by the Reverend A. D. Sutherland.  Donations in George’s memory may be made to St. Mark’s Presbyterian Cemetery Fund and would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
