Rosa Richard

ST. CHARLES – Rosa Richard, 87, passed away peacefully at the Villa Maria, St. Louis, on Saturday, October 1^st, 2016. Born in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Albénie and Esther (Johnson) Maillet. Rosa was well known for her work as a school bus driver for many years, and she was a member of the St. Charles Golden Age Club.

Rosa will be sadly missed by her daughter, Diane Meredith (late Dave) of St. Charles; her three sons, Jean-Claude (Yvette) of St. Charles, Gilles (Gisèle) of Aldouane and Roger (Nicole) of St. Charles; her seven grand-children, Ghislain, Mario, Maryssa, Marc, Carole, Christian and Dominique; her two great granddaughters, Emma and Jolène; her two sisters Angèle Tremblay (Jean) of Rouyn-Noranda, QC and Olivia Maillet of St. Charles; her two brothers, Arthur (late Yvette) of Sept-Iles, QC and Donald (Bella) of St. Charles; as well as by her several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Rosa is predeceased by her husband, Lionel; her four sisters, Lorraine, Rita, Blondine and Bernadette; and her two brothers, Roméo and Médore.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at the Villa Maria and the Foyer Bois Joli in St. Louis, as well as a very special thank you to Dr. André Boucher for the special care that was given to Rosa.

Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Memorial Home, Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Tuesday from 7:00-9:00 pm and Wednesday from 9:00 am until departure for the funeral.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 5th, 2016 at 11:00 am, St. Charles Borromée Roman Catholic Church, St. Charles.  Donations in Rosa’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
