RICHIBOUCTOU-VILLAGE, NB – Bertha Arsenault 94, of Richibouctou-Village passed away peacefully at the Rexton Lions Nursing Home in Rexton on Wednesday, February 1, 2017. Born in Richibouctou-Village, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse LeBlanc and late Eva Leger. Before retiring, Bertha worked at the fish processing plant in Cap-Lumiere and she was a member of the Richibouctou-Village Golden Age Club and attended St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church.
Bertha will be sadly missed by her son, Donald Arsenault (Cécile) of Richibouctou-Village; two grand children, Joel (Jason) of Dartmouth, NS, Renelle of Richibouctou-Village; four sisters, Annette Saulnier (late Willie) of Moncton, Marie Richard (Leandre) of Richibouctou-Village, Alphonsine Allain (late Vincent) of Richibouctou-Village, Jeannine Richard (Euclide) of Cap Lumiere; six brothers, Gérard (Ida), Alcide (Alice) both of Richibouctou-Village, Léo (Andréa) of Richibucto, Abel (Gemma) of Richibouctou-Village, Elias (late Délima, late Geneva) of St. Louis, Raoul of St. Louis and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Bertha was predeceased by her husband, Adéodat Arsenault; one infant son, Joseph; two sisters, Léontine, infant Alphonsine and four brothers, Adolphe, Zoël, Yvon and Rhéal.
Visitation will be held at the St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church in Richibouctou-Village on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9, Wednesday at 1:00 pm until time of the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 3:00 pm, St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village. Donations in Bertha’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society. Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
