Raymond Patrick Murphy
REXTON, NB – It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Raymond Patrick Murphy. Raymond passed away at the Dr.-Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital on August 9th, 2017 at the age of 69. He was born in Rexton and was the son of the late Dan and Margaret (Markey) Murphy. Raymond was a man of many talents, be it teaching or municipal politics, he worked tirelessly for the benefit of others. He was an avid card player and an active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in South Branch, N.B. Raymond was the very definition of what a community volunteer should be. His contributions will be missed by many.
Since 2003, Raymond was employed as Executive Director of the Union of Municipalities of New Brunswick (UMNB). He greatly enjoyed his work at UMNB and the connections he made over the years.
