Fernand Gallant

SAINT-CHARLES, NB – Fernand Gallant 71, of Saint-Charles passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste-Anne-de-Kent on Sunday, September 24, 2017.  Born in St. Ignace, he was the son of the late Albert Gallant and late Eugenie (LeBlanc) Gallant.  Before retiring, Fernand was employed as a welder and pipefitter.  He was a member of Local Union 325 Plumber & Pipefitters in Fredericton for almost 50 years. 

Fernand will be sadly missed by his wife, Edith Daigle of St. Charles; one daughter, Renée Gallant (Christopher Hawthornthwaite) of Shediac; one son, Gaetan Gallant (Lisette) of Dieppe; two step-daughters, Charline Allain (Robert) of Bedec, Sacha Manuel (Nicholas) of Baie-Ste-Anne; three grandchildren, Isaac, Olivier, Julie and four step-grandchildren, Keith, Alissa, Briana and Thomas. 

He is also survived by four sisters, Gilberte Desjardins (late Gerry) of London, ON, Alma Richard (late Alphonse) of Aldouane, Elisa Seguin (Bob) of London, ON, Yvonne Richard (Gerry) of London, ON; five brothers, André (Ginette) of St. Ignace, Adelard (Rose Marie) of St. Ignace, Gerald (Shirley) of Leithbridge, AB, Alvin (Celine) of St. Ignace, Robert (Navyn) of Leominster, Mass; one aunt, Alida Maillet of St. Louis, one sister-in-law, Jeannette Richard of Richibouctou-Village, many nieces, nephews and also sadly missed by the entire Arsenault family. 

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Cecile (Arsenault) Gallant and two brothers, Raymond and Emerie. 

Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, Friday at 2:00 pm until departure for the funeral.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 4:00 pm, St. Ignace de Loyola Roman Catholic Church in St. Ignace.  Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
