Gilbert Robichaud
1925-2017
SAINT-CHARLES, NB – Gilbert Robichaud 92, of Richibucto passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Center in Moncton on Friday, October 6, 2017. Born in St. Charles, he was the son of the late Joseph Robichaud and late Catherine (Martin) Robichaud. Mr. Gilbert Robichaud is a veteran who proudly served our country overseas during WWII. Upon his return, he was employed as a carpenter and was also a lobster fisherman. Gilbert was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for fishing and hunting.
Gilbert will be sadly missed by his children Denise Surette (Joe) of Irishtown, Jasmine Arsenault of Moncton, Ginette Robichaud of Moncton; Roger (Flo) of Moncton, Adrien (Linda) of Halifax, Marc of Dieppe, Elie of Campbellton, David (Nancy) of Ottawa and his grandchildren; Lisa, Pauline, Jacques, Jonathan, Julien, Jocelyne, Kristian and one great grandchild.
He is also survived by his siblings, Annette Vautour (Edmond) of St. Charles, Célime (Minnie) of Aldouane, Aldie (late Jeannine) of Saint John and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Thérèse (Daigle) Robichaud; his partner, Deliza Caissie; his sisters, Sarah, Anita and brothers, Pierre, Benoit, Jim, Leonard and Adrian.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto on Tuesday from 7-9 pm, Wednesday at 9:30 am until time of the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 11:30 am, St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church in Richibucto. Interment will be held at the Aldouane Roman Catholic Cemetery in Aldouane. Donations in Gilbert’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. The family wish to express special thanks to the staff of the ambulance , the emergency department at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Dr. Joseph Teakles, Father Fidele, care giver, Emerise Nowlan and homemaker, Diana Doiron for their kind and compassionate care.
