Mary Pearlene Simon-Baker

ELSIPOGTOG, NB - It is with great sorrow we announce the death of Mary Pearlene Simon-Baker, 56, of Elsipogtog First Nation on December 6th, 2017 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. Her soul now graces the heavens after losing a lengthy fight with diabetes. Her smile, laugh, and kindness will forever be etched in the hearts, minds and souls of the people she left behind.

Although her suffering has ended she leaves in bereavement her long time spouse, Frank Joseph Cloud of Metepenagiag; her children, Shelly McCabe, Joanna Simon-Hyacithe, Kristina Simon and Oscar Baker III; her brother John Simon of Shubenacadie; her sisters, Lorise Simon, Andrea Colfer, Vina Simon, and Anita Peterpaul; as well as her grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews and her dog Moin. She considered all of Elsipogtog her family and now she rests.

She returns to glory to hold her parents again, Gabriel Abraham Simon and Leona Simon, her other mothers in life Dora Mae Simon and Rita Augustine and her adoptive father Oscar Baker Sr.

Stripped of her siblings too soon she now greets them again, her brothers, Jeffrey Simon, and Herman "the Mandingo Warrior" Simon; as well as her beloved sister Gladys Marie Simon.

Visitation will begin on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Pearlene’s home, 110 Main Street, Elsipogtog, until time of the funeral.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 10:30 am, St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Elsipogtog.

The family would like to thank you for the love and support. We’re collecting donations for funeral costs but would also ask donations to be made to help others fight Diabetes.

Arrangements are in the professional care of Thompson’s Funeral Home. (523-4252)
