Ursule Gallant

ST-IGNACE, NB – Ursule Gallant 92, of St. Ignace passed away peacefully at the Villa Maria in Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Sunday, February 18, 2018.  Born in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Clement Babineau and late Marguerite (Vautour) Babineau.  

Ursule will be sadly missed by her seven daughters; Odette Johnson (Telex) of Richibucto, Ethel Arsenault (Dollard) of St. Charles, Elva Gallant (Felix) of Moncton, Angella Gallant (Onil) of St. Charles, Linda Drisdelle (Guy) of Dieppe, Huguette Gray (Albin) of St. Ignace, Noella Vautour (Fernand) of St. Louis; four sons, Gilles Gallant (Rosa) of St. Ignace, Paul-Emile Gallant (Rosa) of St. Ignace, Edmond Gallant (Marie-Anne) of St. Ignace, Elmo Gallant (Geneva) of Moncton; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. 

She is also survived by eight sisters; Regina Richard (late Edouard) of St. Louis, Aurore Gallant (late Jean-Baptiste) of St. Louis, Exina Martin (late Lionel) of Guelph, ON, Marie Luc LeBlanc (late Paul) of St. Louis, Anna Arsenault (Eric) of Ontario, Marie-Anne Richard (Emery) of Leominster, MASS, Cecilia Babineau (late Paul) of Dieppe, Lucie Babineau of Dieppe; three brothers, Firmin Babineau (Zelica) of St. Louis, Alfred Babineau (Eugenie) of Saint John, Clement Babineau (Helen) of St. Louis; her special niece, Lise Richard and many nieces and nephews. 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gerard Gallant and three sisters, Alice, Louise and infant Cecile. 

Visitation will be held at Thompson Memorial Home, Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Wednesday from 7-9 pm, Thursday at 1:00 pm until departure for the funeral.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 4:00 pm, St. Ignace de Loyola Roman Catholic Church, St. Ignace.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Ursule’s memory may be made to La Villa Maria Palliative Care.
