Ernest Daigle

1953-2018

Ernest Daigle

It is with very heavy hearts that we are sharing with you that my husband and our father, Ernest Daigle, 64, of Moncton and formerly of Saint-Charles, passed away peacefully at the Dr. George-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton.

Born in Saint-Charles, NB, he was the adoptive son of the late Joe (à Baptiste) and the late Domine (née: Daigle) Daigle.

Ernest will be sadly missed by his wife, Hester (née: Caissie); two daughters: Rachel Renauld (Michel) of Dieppe and Tina Daigle of Moncton; his biological mother, Marie-Anne (née: Daigle) Burton (Pat) of Saint-John; one sister, Linda Burton (Erwin Nathan Scott) of Saint-Stephen; six sisters-in-law: Madeleine Gallant (Émile) of Saint-Louis, Anne-Marie Doiron (Sylvère) of Acadieville, Eugénie Queena (Tom) of Moncton, Virgine Arsenault (Aquilla) of Aldouane and Florence Robichaud (Roger) of Moncton; two brothers-in-law: Johnny (Carmelle) of Rogersville and Fernand (Rose-Marie) of Acadieville; several nieces and nephews and also by his best friend, his yorkie, Theo.

Ernest was predeceased by one sister, Nathalie Richard (Edgar); four brothers: Edmond (Yvette), Elzear, Jean-Baptiste and Albert (Therese) and also by one brother-in-law, Leo (Marie) Caissie.

He followed his passion and became a bus driver. He was employed by the City of Moncton, driving for Codiac Transpo for 16 years. He enjoyed working and was proud of his accomplishments. An avid comedian and teaser, you will never meet another man who valued his passions so deeply.

Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB on Friday from 7 to 9 pm ONLY; on Saturday from Thompson Funeral Home, 33 Acadia Street, Richibucto from 9 am until 10:45 am.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Saint-Charles-Borromée Roman Catholic Church, Saint-Charles on Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 at 11:30 am.

Interment in Saint-Charles-Borromée Parish Cemetery, Saint-Charles.

Donations to the CHU-Dumont Foundation "Arbre de l’Espoir" would be appreciated by the family.

Arrangements entrusted to Chartersville Funeral Home, Dieppe, NB.
