Joseph James Kerr Martin Sr.
1938-2018
MIRAMICHI, NB – Joseph James Kerr Martin Sr., 79, of Miramichi passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Sunday, March 18, 2018. Born in Chatham, he was the adopted son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Landry. Kerr worked as a bricklayer and before his retirement, as a heavy equipment operator at CFB Chatham for 25 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Kerr will be sadly missed by his common law wife of 45 years, Diana Leblanc; his two daughters, Valerie O’Hearn (Stephen) of Oromocto and Cheryl Caroll (Walter) of Comox, BC; his son Daryl Martin of Edmonton, AB; his six grandchildren and one great grandchild; as well as by his four step-children.
Besides his parents, Kerr is predeceased by his son Kerr Martin Jr.
Following Kerr’s wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home and no funeral service. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations in Kerr’s memory made to the NB Heart & Stroke Association would be appreciated by the family.
