Bertin Eagle

CAP-LUMIÈRE, NB – Bertin Eagle, 84, formerly of Cap-Lumière passed away peacefully at La Villa Maria, Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Sunday, April 15^th, 2018. Born in Saint-Marie-de-Kent, he was the son of the late Hector and Annie (Richard) Eagle. Bertin was a fisherman and before retiring, worked for the Department of Transportation (Bridge Department) in Rexton. He was a parishioner at St-Antoine-de-Padoue Roman Catholic Church, was a member of the Richibouctou-Village Club d’Âge d’Or and was a former Knight of Columbus.

Bertin will be sadly missed by his daughter, Martha Allain (Henry) of Richibouctou-Village; his son, Alvin Eagle (Lise) of Acadieville; three grandchildren, Charline, Lynn and Danika; two great-grandchildren, Scott and Hayley; his sister, Noella Bellefleur (Bob) of Moncton; two brothers, Augustin (Rita) of Moncton and Hector of Hamilton, ON; as well as by his many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Bertin is predeceased by his wife, Laurette; eight sisters, Maria, Martha, Albertine, Georgina, Catherine, Thérèse, Annette and Claudia; and three brothers, Laurie, Joseph and Léandre.

Visitation will be held at the St-Antoine-de-Padoue Slumber Room, Richibouctou-Village on Friday, May 25^th, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9pm and Saturday from 9:00am until time of funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 26^th, 2018 at 11:00am, St-Antoine-de-Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village. Donations in Bertin’s memory made to La Villa Maria Palliative Care Unit or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. John McCleave, Dr. André Boucher and Dr. Josette Vautour, as well as to the wonderful staff at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital, Foyer Bois Joli and La Villa Maria for the excellent care that was given to Bertin over the past few years.
