Eva Therese Albert

1925-2018

Eva Therese Albert

REXTON, NB – Therese Albert, 92, of Rexton passed away peacefully at the Rexton Lions Nursing Home in Rexton on Thursday, May 3, 2018.  Born in Bouctouche, she was the daughter of the late Alyre Robichaud and the late Amanda (Bourque) Robichaud.

In her youth, Therese played softball and was the catcher on the provincial team.  She pursued her postsecondary education in administration at the college in Memramcook and in Fine Arts at the University of New Brunswick.

She worked as a bank teller and a bilingual secretary on Parliament Hill before her marriage to Avelin Andre Albert.

She was an avid gardener, a fiercely competitive bridge player, and always enjoyed doing her daily crosswords.  After living in several communities, the family settled in Bells Mills near Rexton.  She worked in different capacities for over 30 years for A. A. Albert and Sons Ltd., which she and her husband founded in 1972.  Although the family raised beef cattle, pigs, and chickens, she was especially fond of her pheasants. When the family started a cranberry farm, Bells Mills Foods, in 2003, she delighted in driving around the farm inspecting the cranberries and watching them grow and ripen.  She and her husband also loved curling, and she curled into her mid80s.

Therese will be sadly missed by her daughter, Jocelyne Albert (Timothy) of Tracy, NB; three sons, Andre Albert (Sandra) of Bells Mills, Maurice Albert (Kim) of Bells Mills, David Albert (Shirley) of Saint John; nine grandchildren, Daryl, Dwayne, Carmen, Phillip, Luc, Marc, Davine, Michael, Daniel and three great grandchildren, Christopher,  James and Austin.

She also survived by one sister, Evangeline Brown (late George) of Montreal and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Avelin Andre Albert; four sisters, Laure, Yvette, Alberta, and Apolline, and one brother, Louis Robichaud.

Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.  Donations in Therese’s memory may be made to the Canadian Lung Association .
