Edgar Guimond
1924-2018
RICHIBUCTO, NB – Edgar Guimond 94, of Richibucto passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste-Anne-de-Kent on Sunday, December 16, 2018. Born in Richibucto, he was the son of the late Theodore Guimond and late Leona (Doucet) Guimond. Before retiring, he was employed at NB Power for 33 years.
Edgar will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 68 years, Edmée Guimond of Richibucto; four daughters, Anne-Marie Guimond (Archille) of MacIntosh Hill, Irene Caissie (Rheal) of Richibucto, Joanne White (Ross) of Fredericton, Germaine Guimond (Denis) of Richibucto; one son, Paul Guimond (Morla) of Richibucto; daughter-in-law, Gisele Guimond of Cap Lumiere; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He is also survived by three brothers, Tim Guimond (Roseline) of Richibucto, Ernest Guimond (late Albertine) of St. Charles, Vernon Guimond (Rose-Mai) of Richiboucto and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one son, George; five sisters, Alice, Bertha, Eva, Jeanette, Rita and three brothers, Frank, Delore and Alcide.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto on Tuesday from 7-9 pm, Wednesday at 9:00 am until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 11:00 am, St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church. Donations in Edgar's memory may be made to the St. Louis de Gonazague Roman Catholic Church and would be appreciated by the family.
