Alcide Fontaine

SAINT-LOUIS-DE-KENT, NB – Alcide Fontaine 75, of Saint-Louis-de-Kent passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste-Anne-de-Kent on Thursday, February 14, 2019.  Born in McDougall Settlement, he was the son of the late Philipe Fontaine and late Laurette (LeBlanc) Fontaine. 

Alcide will be sadly missed by his partner, Jeanne Vautour of St. Louis; one daughter, Joanne Hebert (Robert) of St. Louis; four sons, Danny Fontaine of Quebec, Joey Fontaine (Rejeanne) of St. Louis, Ricky Fontaine (Mireille) of St. Louis, Darren Fontaine (Rachel) of Moncton; the mother of his children, Leona Fontaine of Richibucto; three step-daughters, Linda Vautour (Sylvio) of St. Louis, Diane Vautour (Gilles) of Bouctouche, Nicole Vautour (John) of St. Louis; one step-son, Fernand Vautour of Richibucto; thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. 

He is also survived by three sisters, Carmella Surette of Grand Digue, Anne Brown of Bouctouche, Gracia Fontaine (Richard) of Shediac; three brothers, Donald Fontaine (Mildred) of Shediac, Jerry Fontaine (Gladys) of Cocagne South, Leo Fontaine of Grand Digue and many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held at Thompson Memorial Home in Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Tuesday at 1:00 pm until departure for the funeral.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 4:00 pm, St. Louis des Français Roman Catholic Church, Saint-Louis-de-Kent.  Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252)
