George Wallace Guimond
ALDOUANE, NB – George Wallace Guimond 60, of Aldouane passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste-Anne-de-Kent on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. Born in Rexton, he was the son of the late Léopold (Polo) Guimond and late Emma (Fontaine) Guimond. Before retiring, George was a fisherman and he also worked in the construction industry erecting scaffolding in Alberta.
George will be sadly missed by his son, Samuel Guimond of Aldouane; one step-daughter, Mercedes of Aldouane; six sisters, Yvette McGraw (Ronnie) of Saint John, Claudette Robichaud (late Roy) of St. Louis, Lili-Anne Ferguson (Willie) of St. Louis, Lorraine Dugas (Paul) of St. Louis, Rose-Eva Comeau (Georges) of Aldouane, Jocelyne Guimond (Laurent Brideau) of Richibucto; four brothers, Laurie Guimond (Janice Belliveau) of St. Charles, Leopaul Guimond of Richibucto, Donald Guimond (Rachel Daigle) of St. Louis, Gerald Guimond (Francine Salois) of St. Hyacinthe and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters, Yvonne, Dora, Jeanne and two brothers, Roger and Normand.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home in Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 1:00 pm until time of the service. A celebration of George’s life will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 3:00 pm, at Thompson Memorial Home in Saint-Louis-de-Kent. Donations in George’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family will receive friends, family and a special invitation to the members of the Cap-St-Louis Fisherman’s Association, for a luncheon following the service, on the second floor at the AquaKent Center, 33 College Street, Saint-Louis-de-Kent, NB, E4X 1C2. Family also wishes to epress a sincere thank you to the Dr. Melanie Allain and the staff at the Stella Maris Hospital for their kind and compassionate care of Georges.
