Léandre Richard

RICHIBOUCTOU-VILLAGE, NB – Léandre Richard 89, of Richibouctou-Village passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at the Villa Maria in Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.  Born in Richibouctou-Village, he was the son of the late Alice (Richard) Léger.  Before retiring, he was employed as a driller.  Léandre enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.  He was a real people person. 

Léandre will be sadly missed by his wife of 63 years, Marie (LeBlanc) Richard of Richibouctou-Village; his daughter, Gisèle Richard (Normand) of Richibouctou-Village; one granddaughter, Mélissa Richard of Moncton and several nieces and nephews. 

Besides his mother Alice Leger (late Antoine), he was predeceased by his grandparents that helped raise him, Georges & Madeleine and an infant daughter, Marie. 

Visitation will be held at the St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room in Richibouctou-Village on Friday from 7-9 pm, Saturday at 9:00 am until time of the funeral.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11:00 am, St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village.  Donations in Léander's memory may be made to the Villa Maria or charity of the donor's choice and would be appreciated by the family.  The family wish to express a special thanks to Dr. Josette Vautour and the staff at the Villa Maria for all their kind and compassionate care of Léandre during his stay.  Also, thank you to the staff at Thompson's Funeral Home for their professional service.
