Charles "Chuck" LeBlanc

REXTON, NB – Charles "Chuck" LeBlanc 79, of Rexton passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital in Ste. Anne de Kent on Friday, January 22, 2021 after a lengthy battle with heart disease.  Born in Rexton, he was the son of the late Adolphe LeBlanc and late Osithe (Richard) LeBlanc.  Chuck attended the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Rexton.

Chuck and his wife Alleyne ran a successful business (Riverside Shell) for many years.  After they sold the business, he drove his own taxi for the surrounding area and then operated the Laundromat in Richibucto before entering retirement.

He was a long-time member of the Rexton Lions Club.  He chaired and sat on many committees, notably the creation of the Nursing Home.  Throughout the years, he sat on a variety of Boards and Committees involving the well-being of Kent County residents.  He was a proud member of the Richibucto Legion.  He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing with friends, including Heartland, and was on the Grand Ole Opry North show in Miramichi (Chatham).

His daughter, Sharon McPhie (Scott) of Saskatchewan and his son, Dennis (Erlinda) of Ontario, will sadly miss Chuck.

He is also survived by three sisters, Lorraine, Jeanine, Anna; two brothers, Norm, Bill along with many, many, many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Alleyne (Warden) LeBlanc (Sept 2020); three sisters, Rita, Germaine, Flora and three brothers, Vince, Paul and Ray.

Sharon & Dennis would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Stella Maris Hospital in Ste. Anne de Kent for their dedication and exceptional care.  In addition, we would like to thank the immediately family for attending to him in our absence.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021 at 2:00pm, Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Rexton.

Arrangements are in the professional care of Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto (523-4252).
