Irma Legere

SAINT-IGNACE, NB – It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Irma Legere, 66, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre on Saturday, February 20th, 2021. Born in Bouctouche, she was the daughter of the late Vital and Edmee (Martin) Guimond. Before retiring, Irma was a fish plant worker. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

Irma leaves to mourn her beloved husband of 49 years of marriage, Dolphee Legere; her daughter, Rachel Doucette (Louis) of Saint-Ignace; her son, Paul (Niki) of Saint John; four grandchildren, Claire (Rene), Melodie (Jean-Luc), Xavier and Gilles and her great-grandson, Felix.

Irma will also be sadly missed by her three brothers, Gerald, Adrien (Diane) and Aldei (Sandy), all of Saint-Charles; her adopted sister, Shirley Guimond (Mark) of Memramcook, as well as by her many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Irma was predeceased by her two brothers, Normand and Freddy.

Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Memorial Home, Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Wednesday from 7-9pm and Thursday from 9:00am until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 25th, 2021 at 11:00am, St. Ignace-de-Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Saint-Ignace. If so desired, donations in Irma’s memory made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. (www.cancer.ca)

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only a maximum of 25 people at a time will be allowed in the funeral home. The funeral celebration will be limited to 25 people. Masks are mandatory and we also ask that social distancing be respected.
