RICHIBUCTO, NB - Léonie Gionet 97, passed away peacefully at the Rexton Lions Nursing Home on Friday, May 24, 2013. Born in Pont-du-Milieu on June 13, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Bélonie and Marguerite (Barriault) Richard and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Léonie will be sadly missed by her two daughters; Pierrette (Gilles Robichaud), Monique (Réjean Gaudet) both of Aldouane, one son; Marc-André (Jeannette Richard) of Salisbury, eight grandchildren; Michelle, Jean-Denis, Emmanuel, Danika, Samuel, Pierre, Jacob, Emilie, twenty great grandchildren, one sister-in-law; Régina Richard of Saint Louis and several nieces and nephews.

Léonie was predeceased by her husband; Pierre Gionet (1990), three sisters; Amanda, Elodie, Claire and six brothers; Gonzague, Nazaire, Camille, Stanislas, Edouard and Delphin.

Resting at Thompson Memorial Home, St Louis de Kent with visitation on Sunday from 7:00-9:00 pm, Monday from 2:00 pm until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 27th, 2013 at 4:00 pm, St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto. Interment will take place in the Aldouane R.C. Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Rexton Lions Nursing Home or donors choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are in care of Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
