Alfred Richard

RICHIBUCTO, NB - Alfred Richard 82, of Richibucto passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent on Sunday, March 30, 2014 after a lengthy battle with cancer.  Born in Bouctouche, he was the son of the late Fidele and late Anna (Desroches) Richard.  Alfred served in the Canadian Armed Forces overseas in the African Congo and in Germany.  He was a member of the Richibucto Legion Branch No. 30, the New Brunswick Senior Citizens Federation and the Canadian Peacekeeping Veterans Association, Miramichi Chapter. 

Alfred will be sadly missed by his wife: Nola (Daigle) Richard of Richibucto, son:  Roderick Richard (Rina) of Moncton, two grandchildren: Ashleigh and Chelsea of Ottawa.

Alfred is also survived by four sisters: Alice Nowlan (late Aldorie) of Moncton, Annette Leger (Joe) of Moncton, Florence Girouard (Paul) of Cocagne, Lina Richard of Niagra Falls, ON and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by five brothers: Omer, Adélard, Guy, Emilien and Henri and two sisters: Aline and Mai.

Visitation will be held at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, Thursday at 9:00 am until departure for the funeral.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at11:00 am, St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto.  Donations in Alfred's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and would be appreciated by the family.
