CAIL'S MILLS, NB - James Charles Lawson at the age of 101, of
Cail's Mills, NB passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital,
on Monday, June 9, 2014. Born on June 6, 1913 in Cail's
Mills, he was the son of the late Charles Lawson and the late Annie
(Cail) Lawson. Before retiring, James was a
farmer. He attended St. James Presbyterian Church in
Beersville where he was a ruling Elder, and was conferred with Elder
Emeritus in 2013.
James will be sadly missed by his four daughters, Linda
Mucci, Juanita Purtell (Bill), Glenna Harper (Cyril), Jean Morton
(Gerald); three sons, Charles (Vicki), Paul (Carolyn), Ross (Sally),
twenty-two grandchildren and thirty-five great
grandchildren.
James is also survived by two sisters, Elizabeth
Côté of Ste. Anne des Plaines, Quebec, Georgina
Hughes of North Vancouver, BC; sister-in-law, Wyona Daley of Bathurst,
NB and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Anna Hornibrook; one
granddaughter, Karen Lawson; five sisters, Helen Parks, Margaret
Lawson, Louise Lawson, Jennie Johnson, Josie Girvan; two brothers,
Jonathan Lawson and Fred Houdlette.
Visitation will be held at Thompson's Funeral Home,
Richibucto on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Funeral
Service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 2:00 pm at St.
James Presbyterian Church, Beersville and will be officiated by Rev.
A. D. Sutherland. In lieu of flowers, the family would
appreciate donations in James's memory to St. James Presbyterian
Church or Cemetery Fund.
