John Carter

KOUCHIBOUGUAC, NB - John Carter 83, of Kouchibouguac, NB passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre on Thursday, June 26, 2014. Born in Kouchibouguac, NB, he was the son of the late William and late Isabelle (McLeod) Carter. Before retiring, John was employed as a carpenter.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Frances (Wood) Carter; two sons, Ricky Carter, Bill Carter; two daughters, Lynn Rogers (Dave), Nancy Carter; one grandson, Keith Rogers; two granddaughters, Kayla and Janelle Carter; one sister, Wanda Dutcher.

John is also survived by step daughter, Sharon Murray (Peter); step sons, Lee Wood (Isabel), Daryl Wood (Judy), Vernon Wood (Marilyn); step grandchildren, Matthew Wood (Brenna), Barry Wood (Julie), Neil Wood (Kristina), Heidi Deveau (Pete), Elaine Wood, James Wood (Christine), Aaron Wood (Rose), Adam Murray; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Shirley (Jim) Sharkey, Ruth (Dave) McCauley; brothers-in-law, Reg Potter (Claudette) and Gary Potter (Dorothy) and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Marg Powers, Mabel Carter, Ruth Jardine and two brothers, Hughie and Allan.

Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 2:00 pm, Thompson's Funeral Home Chapel, Richibucto. Interment will be held at a later date. Donations in John's memory may be made to the Knox Presbyterian Church in Kouchibouguac or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements are in care of Thompson's Funeral Home (523-4252).
