Florence (Tweedie) Lanigan

REXTON, NB - Florence "Tweedie" Lanigan 80, of Rexton, NB passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent on Thursday, July 3, 2014.  Born in Rexton, she was the daughter of the late Lester Beattie and late Cecilia (Bastarache) Beattie.  Florence was a member of the C.W.L. for 60 years, Rexton Golden Age Club, Women After 5 Club, Lioness Foundation of Dog Guides of Canada and a past president/secretary of the Rexton Lioness where she was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow Award. 

Tweedie will be sadly missed by her husband, Raymond Lanigan of Rexton, one daughter, Pamela Robichaud (Joseph) of Rexton; two sons, Brian Lanigan (Betty) of Ottawa, Stephen Lanigan (Carmen) of Riverview; three grandchildren, Natasha Mitchell (Wayne), Jaret Robichaud (Loraine), Aimee Robichaud (Jeremy) and four great grandchildren. 

She is also survived by one sister, Joyce Harding (late Dave); one brother, Wayne Beattie (Linda) of Moncton and many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held at Thompson's Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9, Tuesday at 9:00 am until departure for the funeral.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 11:00 am, Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Rexton.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery.  Donations in Tweedie's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family.
