Jonathan R. Beers

REXTON, NB - A long time retiree of G. M. Canada (32.2 years) and C.A.W. Pension Rep. (formerly U.A.W.) passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent.  Born in Bass River, Kent Co., NB, he was the son of the late George W. Beers and Ella (McKillop) Beers; husband of Patricia (nee Pond) and dear father of Cheryl LeBlanc (Mike) of Cobourg, ON; Doug and Jonnie (Suzann) of Oshawa, ON.

A member of the Royal Legion Branch No. 30, Richibucto, NB (Veteran of R.C N.) and Independent Order of Foresters (I.O.F.) Moncton Chapter.  He was an affiliate of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Browns Yard, NB.  John's proudest accomplishment was to have been elected 1st Vice President of Loc. 222 C.A.W. at the time the largest local of any union in North America. 

He also will be sadly missed by granddaughter Carrie, great grandddaughter, Nikisha and great-great grandson, Journey Walker as well as step-grandsons, Joshua Rod and Brett  LeBlanc; sisters, Audrey Goodwin (late Gerry) and Carolyn Alward both of Moncton and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 3:00 pm, St. Paul's Anglican Church, Browns Yard.  (Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service beginning at 2:00 pm at the church).  Donations in Jonathan's memory may be made to St. Paul's Anglican Church (Grounds Committee) would be appreciated by the family.
