Earl Thompson

With deep sadness and sorrow, we announce the passing of Earl Isaiah Thompson, the best man we ever knew. He was born March 24, 1943, Targettville, NB, son of the late Moody and Mary (Roberts) Thompson and spent most of his life in Bass River, NB on The Thompson Family Farm. He was a Fine Carpenter, a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Brown’s Yard; a former member of RCC, Harcourt Legion and Bass River Country Fair Hall. He loved to curl, canoe, hunt, fish and bike with his family and friends.

Earl is survived by his best friend and childhood sweetheart, his wife of 53 years, Evelyn Marie (Roberts) Thompson, his two devoted daughters Elaine and Janet; his loving son Tony (Delta, step-grandson Colin); Earl’s pride and joy his grandson, Jake (Kaylee); and his little dog Luna. He is also survived by his sisters Glenda (Bob); Alice (William); Margaret and Shirley; his brothers Kelsey; Harley (Mona); Wesley (Linda); Glen (Julie); Eric (Sandra); sisters-in-law Eva and Elizabeth; along with several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his infant son, Edward; his sister Georgie, brothers Alex and Chester. The Thompson Family would like to thank everyone who helped in this our saddest time. Your cards, phone calls, food, visits and prayers were much appreciated. Special thanks are extended to Dr. William Harper, Dr. Pamela Mansfield and the Kent Extra-Mural Program; Rev. Cecil Symes, Rev. Christopher Ketch and especially to Earl’s earth angel, his sister, Alice and his nephew Chad. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. "A life that touches the hearts of others goes on forever."

Visitation will be at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.  A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Brown's Yard.  A reception will follow the service at the church hall.  Arrangements are in care of Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
