Rita Griffin

JARDINEVILLE, NB - Rita Griffin 91, of Jardineville passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne-de-Kent on Saturday, January 24, 2015. Born in Richibouctou-Village, she was the daughter of the late André and late Obeline (Richard) Gallant. She attended Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Rexton and was a member of the C.W.L and was past president. Rita was also a member of the Richibucto Ladies Auxiliary Branch #30. She enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels and also at the Rexton Lions Nursing Home.

She will be sadly missed by her two daughters; Shirley Symes (Cecil) of Jardineville, Cynthia Noel of Rexton; two sons, Edward Griffin (Jeanette) of Quispamsis, Allan Griffin (Shirley) of Lower Sackville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Melina Desaulnier (Richard) of Gardner, MASS; one brother, Livain Gallant (Gloria) of Aldouane and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, James Griffin; one son, Stevie; two sisters, Laura, Edna and two brothers, Edgar and Emile.

Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home in Richibucto on Monday from 2 - 4 & 7- 9 PM and Tuesday from 9:00 am until departure for the funeral.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 11:00 am, at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Rexton. Donations in Rita's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are in care of Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
