Anna Rose Joseph

ELSIPOGTOG, NB - Anna Joseph 99, of Elsipogtog passed away peacefully on February 17, 2015 at the Rexton Lions Nursing Home with her daughter-in-law Coreine Paul by her side who she was like a mother to her.   

Anna, known by many as Migitjoo, Granny, sis, mom and friend.  While in the nursing home, she earned two nick names: little grasshopper by the staff of the nursing home and speedy gonzales by her daughter-in-law Coreine.  She was the first night nurse at the old Rexton Lions Nursing Home.  Born to Kenneth Joseph McDonald and Mary Sadie (Sarah) LaFave on April 5, 1915 in Wakefield, Massachusetts, USA.   She married William Henry Paul at St. Peters Church, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia on April 28, 1931.  She remarried, widower John Joseph on October 28, 1972 in Big Cove at St. Anne's Church.  

The last surviving member of her immediate family, she is survived by one daughter Veronica Agnes "Vera" Brown (James "Jerry") of Chester, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Cora-Coreine Dauphinee Russell (John Richard) of Richibucto; grandsons, Donald (Lynn Marie), James, Joseph (Moncia), Mark, Allan, Jason; granddaughters, Lynne (David Kaminsky), Barbara, Tatanya (Mark), Melodie, Wanda (Stanley), Corra; great grandson, Christopher; great granddaughters, Jennifer (Bill); great great granddaughters, Kara and Nicole; step-son Stephen (Mary Louise), Peter (Anita); step-daughters, Francis (late Jacob Jr.) and Mary Irene (late Anthony). 

She was predeceased by her first husband, William Henry Paul, second husband, John Joseph; sons, infant Vincent and John "Sonny"; grandsons, Gary and John Jr.; step-daughters, Annie Jane, Lillian, Evelyn, Mona; step-sons, infant Johnny & Vincent; brothers, Joseph, Henry, William, Frederick, Albert, Arthur, Daniel "Bub"; twin sister Addie, Helen and Sis; granddaughter, Catherine; great grandson, Brandon; step-granddaughter, Tanya. 

Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, Friday 2-4 & 7-9, Saturday at 9:00 am until departure for the funeral.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 11:00 am, St. Anne's Roman Catholic Roman Catholic Church, Elsipogtog.  Donations in Anna's memory may be made to the Rexton Lions Nursing Home and would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements are in care of Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
