Emery (Emeril) Daigle
1920-2015
Émery J. Daigle (known under the name of Émeril)... husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and gentleman.
A resident of the Auberge du Soleil in Dieppe, Émery passed away at the age of 94 years on March 14, 2015. Mr. Émery J. Daigle, husband of the late Thérèse Poirier, was residing in Dieppe but was formerly from Richibucto. Son of the late William Daigle and late Mélanie Dugas of Pointe Sapin; he is survived by his children: Louis-Marcel (Andréa), late Murielle (Jean-Guy), Dianne (Graham), Roland (Naomi), Juliette, Jean-Maurice (Nicole), Chantal, Leopold (Marc), Bertrand (Céline) and Charline; his grandchildren: Gisèle, René, Ginette, Darren, Dennie, Kyla, Mark, Justine, Pierre-Étienne, Vanessa, Aimie, Manuel; his great-grandchildren: Carole, Mélisa, Mathew, Thomas, Byron, Bryson, Xavier, Olivier, Zoé, Loïe, his sisters and brothers: late Juliette (late Fernand), late Moïse (Élodie), late Ovila (Irma), Yvon (Viola), Antoine (late Lydia), Laurette (Roger). He also leaves his brothers-in-law: Roger Poirier and Bernard (Antoinette) Poirier and a sister-in-law Géraldine Poirier and many other relatives and friends.
Mr. Émery J. Daigle was a fisherman and captain of his own boat at the age of 13; he was the owner of the Texaco garage in Richibucto. He worked as a mechanic in the great northern Labrador, Goose Bay and Sept-Iles; He was a long-time participant as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 30 of Richibucto and the Knights of Columbus; He was also active in several committees of the St-Louis-de-Gonzague Parish, Richibucto. Émeril’s favorite sports were bowling and curling.
Visitations will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto on Friday, March 20th 2015 from 2 to 4 pm & 7 to 9 pm and also on Saturday from 9:30 am until time of service. The Funeral Mass will be at the St-Louis-de-Gonzague Roman Catholic Church in Richibucto on Saturday, March 21st 2015 at 11:00 am.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Auberge du Soleil in Dieppe for the attentive care given to Émery. Donations in Emery's memory may be made to the St-Louis-de-Gonzague Parish or to a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
