Edwin Charles Hudson
1924-2015
Edwin Charles Hudson, 91, of Rexton, passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent, Monday, April 27, 2015. Born on April 9, 1924, in Galloway, NB, he was the son of the late Andrew and Delphine (Fagan) Hudson.
Edwin was a veteran of World War II where he served in the Carleton York Regiment and was wounded in Italy. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #30, Richibucto. He was retired from the Department of Transportation where he worked for 27 years, many as a foreman on the bridge crew. He loved to play the accordion, enjoyed a good card game and spent many evenings watching the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Edwin was married to Helen (Roach) Hudson for 60 years prior to her death in 2007. He is survived by his three sons, Eddy (Pauline) of Main River, John of Mundleville and Mark (Audrey) of Richibucto-Village, four daughters, Peggy Roberts of Riverview, Cindy (Ron) Richard of Hagersville, ON, Stacy Hudson (Trevor) of Cap-Lumiere and Julie Hudson of Mundleville, 15 grandchildren , 28 great grandchildren, a special niece, Kitty Gee of Maine and caregiver, Shirley Arsenault. He was also pre-deceased by his daughter Lynn, twin brother, Roy and twenty-two half brothers and sisters.
Resting at Thompson’s Funeral Home with visiting hours Thursday, April 30th from 2-4 and 6-9, a funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 1st at 11:30AM at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Rexton. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment will be in the Chapel Point Cemetery. Donations in Edwin’s memory can be made to the Chapel Point Cemetery fund.
