Carl William Barnes

BASS RIVER, NB - Carl Barnes 81, of Bass River passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital on Friday, May 1, 2015.  Born in Bass River on September 19, 1933, he was the son of the late Charles and Grace (MacPherson) Barnes.  He had worked at Warren's Cement Plant, Modern Construction and J & S Lumber Company and well as a woodsman.  He attended St. Stephen's United Church in Molus River, NB. 

He is survived by four daughters, Patricia Deroche (Norman), Jennie Steeves (Lennie), Carol Barnes (Marcel Benoit) and Caroline Arsenault (Stephen); two sons, Brian (Brenda Scott-Barnes) and Ronnie; the mother of his children, Essie (Donaher) Barnes; a special friend, Laura, mother of Caroline; four sisters, Jennie Baker (Will), Mary Petley, Jean Roach, Joan Robertson; three brothers, Donnie (Frances), Lennie, Lorne (Gail); thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. 

He was predeceased by two sisters, Edna Foster and Helen Ward and three brothers, Harry, Harold and David. 

Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday, May 9th at 11:00 am until time of the service.  The Funeral Service will be held at Thompson's Funeral Home Chapel, Richibucto on Saturday, May 9, 2015  at 1:00 pm.  Interment will take place at St. Stephen's United Cemetery following the service. 

If so desired, donations to the St. Stephen's United Church Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements are in care of Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto.
