Odilon Richard

RICHIBOUCTOU-VILLAGE, NB - Odilon Richard 81 and nine months, of Richibouctou-Village, NB passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste-Anne-de-Kent on Saturday, June 6, 2015 after a brief battle with cancer.  Born in Richibouctou-Village, he was the son of the late Arthur Richard and late Anna (Babineau) Richard.  Before retiring, Odilon was employed as an Auto Body Repairman and Auto Mechanic, owning his own shop, Richard Auto Repair.  He attended St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church and he was a member of the Golden Age Club. 

Odilon will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Laura (Robichaud) Richard of Richibouctou-Village; two sons, Dr. Michel Richard (Tiffanie Proulx) of Bromont, Quebec, Réjean Richard (Carmen) of Aldouane; three grandchildren, Emmanuelle, Sophie and Chanel. 

He is also survived by six sisters, Emma Mazerolle (late Charlie) of Richibucto, Dorice Melanson (late Laurie) of Moncton, Jacqueline Bourgeois (Gerald) of Orillia, ON, Sylvie Lavoie (late Gérald) of Moncton, Rose Marie Strachan (Bob) of Moncton, Alberte Richard (Tom McLaughlin) of Oromocto; three brothers, Benoit (late Pat) of Bramford, ON, Alfred (Rita) of Richibouctou-Village, Paul Emile (Louise) of Moncton; sister-in-law, Florence Richard and many nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Marie, one sister, Juliette Richard, three brothers, Yvon, Noé and Laurent. 

Visitation will be held at the St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room on Tuesday from 7-9 pm, Wednesday 2-4 pm and 6:00 pm until time of the funeral.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 7:00 pm, St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery.  Arrangements are in care of Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
