Jeannine Poirier
1938-2024
ST-LOUIS-DE-KENT, NB – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeannine Poirier, March 22nd, 2024, at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital at the age of 86. Born in Milltown February 28, 1938 she grew up in Saint- Ignace, she was the daughter of the late Medor and late Judith (Robichaud) Henrie.
Jeannine worked at la Villa Maria for many years. She liked playing cards, especially “10” and Bingo. Jeannine enjoyed bowling over the years.
These recent years, Jeannine enjoyed listening to music at her residence O Bons Soins, in Shediac. On a few occasions, we even had the opportunity to see her dance!
Jeannine will be missed by her two daughters, Joanne Poirier (Kerry Sutherland), of Moncton and Louise Poirier (Joe LeBlanc), of Shediac; one son, Raymond Poirier (Huguette), of Saint John; her grandchildren: Mathieu (Mélanie), Mélanie, Kara, Sara and Myriam as well as a special nephew Gary Larocque (Micheline), of Saint-Louis.
Jeannine is also survived by three sisters; Exilda Doiron of Rogersville, Roseanna Belliveau (Aurele) of Saint Paul and Alma (Alphee LeBlanc) of Acadieville, two brothers; Edward of Colorado, François (Cynthia) of Saint-Ignace, as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Jeannine was predeceased by her husband, Gérard Poirier, her brothers Eric et Antoin, and her sisters Mabel, Marguerite, Marie and Alice.
Visitation will be held at Thompson Memorial Home in Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Tueday, April 2nd, 2024 from noon until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 4:00 pm, at the St. Louis des Français Roman Catholic Church in Saint-Louis de Kent.
