Timothy (Tim) Wayne O'Brien

REXTON, NB – Timothy (Tim) Wayne O’Brien 62, of Rexton passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital in Ste-Anne-de-Kent on Thursday, January 21, 2021.  Before retiring, Tim was employed at Irving Specialties. 

Tim will be sadly missed by his sister, Suzanne O’Brien of Rexton; his close friends, Neil Richard of Rexton and Ron Caissie of Bouctouche; his extended family, the Richards who the children would refer to him as "uncle Tim"; his special aunts Doris Vautour of Cap St-Louis, Rosie O’Brien of Moncton and Kathleen Sharpe of Ontario as well as many other aunts, uncles and friends. 

Tim was a kind and gentle soul.  He was passionate and loved animals.  He loved feeding and connecting with his backyard birds.  He enjoyed his outings at his extended family and making people smile whether it was to tip a cashier or to call you "chocolate".  He will be missed by many. 

He is also survived by his father, Emery O’Brien of Richibucto; one brother, Edward O’Brien of Moncton and nephew, Edward Jr. O’Brien of Ontario. 

He was predeceased by his loving mother, Helen (Flusky) O’Brien and his cherished Goddaughter, Amanda Richard.  

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kent County Veterinary Hospital "Rexton Cat Rescue" or etransfer to Julie Hudson [email protected], Lupus NB, Canadian Cancer Society or charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. 

Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto on Friday, May 14th, 2021 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, May 15th, 2021 at 11am, Thompson's Funeral Home Chapel, Richibucto.

Due to COVID-19 regulations, a maximum of 50 people at a time are allowed in the funeral home. Masks are mandatory and we ask that social distancing be respected.
