Joseph J. "Joe" Gallant
1931-2021
SAINT-CHARLES, NB – Joseph J. "Joe" Gallant, 90, of Foyer Bois-Joli, Saint-Louis and formerly of Saint-Charles, passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital on Sunday, December 5th, 2021. Born in Saint-Charles, he was the son of the late Johnny and Amanda (Martin) Gallant.
Joe was a "Jack of all trades"; over the years he worked as a mechanic, woodsman, welder, heavy equipment operator and as a carpenter.
Last surviving member of his immediate family, Joe will be sadly missed by his 23 nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by his three sisters, Rosalie (late Adelard), Marie and Lucie (late Alcide); as well as by his four brothers, Alphonse, Emile, Aubin and Zozime (late Véa).
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto Wednesday from 7-9 pm and Thursday from 9:00am until departure for the funeral. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 9th, 2021 at 11:00 am, Saint-Charles-Borromée Roman Catholic Church, Saint-Charles.
The family would like to thank the staff at Foyer Bois-Joli, Stella Maris Hospital and Dr. Melanie Arsenault for the excellent care that they provided to Joe.
If so desired, donations in Joe’s memory can be made to the Saint-Charles-Borromée Parish and would be appreciated by the family.
Following provincial COVID-19 regulations, visitors will be required to provide proof of double COVID-19 vaccination and government issued ID at the funeral home and church, masks are mandatory and we ask that social distancing is respected.
