Dollard Arseneault
1954-2023

SAINT-CHARLES, NB - Dollard Arseneault, 68, of
Saint-Charles passed away suddenly, following a brief illness at the
Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital, Sainte-Anne-de-Kent on Wednesday,
January 11th, 2023.
Born in Saint-Charles, he was the son of the late
Richard and Emma (Richard) Arseneault. Dollard worked as a trackman
for CN for 35 years and after retiring, he worked as a janitor for the
Francophone South School District for 12 years. He was a former member
of the Kent Lake Lodge and was also a member of the Saint-Charles
Golden Age Club.
Dollard was a man of hard work, integrity, generosity
and laughter. He adored old country music, a cold beer and antique
cars. He loved spending time with his family, working his land,
harvesting firewood and clearing the ditches along the roadside (let's
be real... Kent Lake never looked so good). He was a remarkable man,
respected by many and loved by all.
Dollard leaves to mourn his loving wife, Ethel
(Gallant) Arseneault; his two daughters, Julie Comeau of Moncton and
Mélanie Arseneault (Jason) of Salisbury; as well as his two
grandchildren, Emilie Comeau and Cédric Comeau.
Dollard will also be
sadly missed by his two sisters, Donalda Vautour (Camille) of
Irishtown and Alice Vautour (Antoine) of Aldouane; his three brothers,
Alvin of Irishtwon, Alphée (Marguerite) of Saint-Charles
and Ronald of Saint-Charles; his sister-in-law, Bernadette Arsenault
of Aldouane; as well as by his many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Dollard was
predeceased by his six sisters, Andréa Daigle, May Gray,
Emerise Vautour, Cécile Gallant, Elmonde Kelly and Juliette
Arsenault and his three brothers, Bermand, Eugère and
Léo.
The
family wishes to thank the staff at Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital,
paramedics,and a special thanks to Mrs. Rachel Jaillet for being there
during Dollard's time of need.
Visitation will be held at Thompson Funeral Home,
Richibucto Wednesday, January 18th, 2023 from 7:00-9:00 pm and
Thursday from 9:00 am until departure for the funeral. A funeral mass
will be celebrated on Thursday, January 19th, 2023 at 11:00 am,
Saint-Charles-Borromée Roman Catholic Church,
Saint-Charles.
