Jean Denis Daigle (UPDATED)

SAINT-LOUIS-DE-KENT, NB - Jean Denis Daigle, 38, of Saint-Louis de Kent passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital on Tuesday, January 10^th, 2023. This is also where Jean Denis was born. Jean Denis was accompanied by his dear uncles, Yvon and Fernand, on this journey.

Jean Denis started his life in hospitals in which he later transitioned to live with his maternal grandparents, Rita and Arsene Daigle, who really took great care of him for 28 years. He later moved to Bouctouche in a home managed by Le Phare community services, since May 2012. Jean Denis loved going for car rides with his grandmother, Rita, and with his aunts and uncles. He enjoyed eating his grandmother’s delicious meals and would always play pranks on her by hiding the sink plug.

Jean Denis will be sadly missed by his grandmother, Rita (Gallant) Daigle of Saint Louis-de-Kent; his mother, Maria Daigle of Gatineau, QC; his father, Joseph Maillet, formerly of Richibouctou-Village; his aunt and godmother, Diane Daigle of Saint Louis-de-Kent; uncles, Yvon Daigle of Saint-Louis-de-Kent, Fernand Daigle of Moncton, Paul Daigle of Sturgeon County, AB, and Alyre Daigle of Harmony, NS; as well as by his many cousins.

Jean Denis was predeceased by his uncle and godfather, Charles Daigle and his grandfather, Arsène Daigle.

Special thanks to Dr. Josee Sirois and the staff at the Stella Maris hospital for their professional care and also to the staff at Le Phare community services for taking care of Jean Denis all these years.

Visitation will be held at Thompson's Memorial Home, Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Sunday, May 7th, 2023 from 2-4 pm and Monday, May 8th, from 9:00 am until departure for the funeral. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 8th, 2023 at 11:00 am, Saint-Louis-des-Français Roman Catholic Church, Saint-Louis-de-Kent.
