ALDOUANE, NB – Léo Paul Gallant 85, of Aldouane passed away peacefully at the Albert House Hospice in Moncton on Friday, November 10, 2023.  Born in St-Ignace, he was the son of the late Jean-Baptiste Gallant and late Eveline (Robichaud) Gallant. 

Before retiring, he was the owner of L. A. Groceries for over 47 years.  Léo-Paul loved his family and friends but also enjoyed nature and sports, walking in the woods, gardening, hunting at his camp in Salmon River, softball, golf, hockey, washer toss and he especially liked a good game of cards. 

Léo-Paul leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 60 years, Léonice (Gaudet) Gallant of St-Louis; two daughters, Annette Carter (John) of Fredericton, Tina Arsenault (Norman) of Maynard, Massachusetts, USA as well as his precious grand children whom he adored, Tiffany Brewer of Fredericton, Cory Arsenault (Desi) of Virginia, USA, Monique Arsenault of Florida, USA and Matthew Carter (Tara) of Ottawa, ON and great grand children, Taylor, Brayden, Kaleb all of Fredericton and one expected in February, Camryn of Ottawa. 

He is also survived by four sisters, Yvonnice Daigle (late Paul) of Aldouane, Anna Daigle (François) of St-Ignace, Marie-Louise Landry (late Norman) of Moncton, Rita Pellerin (Ben) of St. Louis; brother-in-law, Eloi Doiron of Richibucto; two sisters-in-law, Hélène Gallant of Ontario, Linda Gallant of St. Louis and many nieces and nephews. 

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by four sisters, Semida, Bertha, Alice, infant Eva and four brothers, Arthur, François, Josephat and Dolphée. 

A private family funeral service will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home Chapel in Richibucto on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 11:00 am.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Léo-Paul’s memory may be made to Albert House Hospice. A celebration of Léo-Paul's life will be held at 1:00 pm at the Club d'âge d'or in St-Ignace.

The family would like to express a sincere thank you to staff at Extra Mural, Palliative Care, Oncology at the Dumont Hospital and Albert House for all their kind and compassionate care.
