SAINT-LOUIS-DE-KENT, NB – It is with great sadness
that the family of Simonne O’Dwyer, 92, of Saint-Louis,
announce her peaceful passing at Stella Maris Hospital on Monday,
September 22, 2025. Born in Saint-Louis, she was the daughter of the
late Theodule and Marguerite Daigle.
Simonne passionately studied many languages and loved
immersing herself in crosswords and classical music. A dedicated
homemaker, she took pride in creating a warm and welcoming home and
was always happiest when surrounded by her family. She also worked as
a senior caregiver and, in her earlier years, as a teacher. Among her
many interests were nature photography and reading literature. Deeply
rooted in her community, she cherished her hometown of Saint-Louis and
later returned there to be close to her family and lifelong
friends.
Simonne will be dearly missed by her daughter, Angela
Ferguson (Gary) of Cambridge, ON; her sons, Paul O’Dwyer
(Christena) of Scarborough, ON, Robert O’Dwyer of Toronto,
ON, and Patrick O’Dwyer of Toronto, ON; her sisters,
Constance Bourgoin (late Leo) of Edmundston, and Gilberte Bourgoin of
Shediac; her brothers, Robert Daigle of St-Ignace, and Rosaire Daigle
(late Andrea) of Saint-Louis; her grandchildren, Amber, April, Amy and
Riley; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and
many friends.
Simonne was predeceased by her beloved husband Patrick
O’Dwyer; her parents Theodule and Marguerite Daigle; her
sisters Mehrina and Jean d’Arc; and her brother, Hughie
Daigle.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from
9:00 AM until the time of the service at Thompson's Funeral Home. A
Funeral Service will be held on November 8, at 10:30 AM at the
Thompson's Funeral Home Chapel in Richibucto.
