ELSIPOGTOG, NB – It is with deep sadness that the
family of Bella Bernard, 97, of Elsipogtog, announces her peaceful
passing on the evening of Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Born in
Elsipogtog, she was the daughter of the late William Joe Simon and the
late Irene Clair.
Bella was a wise and worldly woman. In her youth, she set out
to pursue the American Dream, and she truly excelled. She lived a
happy and fulfilling life in the United States before returning home
to Elsipogtog for her retirement. Her long and healthy life may be
attributed to her dedication to her well-being, always ensuring she
kept herself in good shape while still enjoying the coffee she loved.
Bella was a kindhearted and beautiful soul who will be deeply missed
by her family and friends.
Bella leaves to mourn her sister Nora Augustine; her niece,
Carla Augustine; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, friends
and extended family members.
Along with her parents, Bella was predeceased by her son,
Clarence Bernard Jr; and her brothers, Leonard, Raymond, Dan, and
Patrick.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from
2:00 – 4:00 PM and 7:00 – 9:00 PM at
Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto. A Funeral Mass will
be celebrated on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St.
Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in Elsipogtog.
Donations may be made in Bella’s memory to St.
Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in Elsipogtog.
