SAINT-IGNACE, NB – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Maria Thébeau, 81, of Saint-Ignace announce her passing on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Born in Saint-Ignace on December 8, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Ulysse Richard and the late Dorina (Robichaud) Richard.

Maria leaves to mourn her beloved husband, Adelard Thébeau; her daughters, Annette Thébeau (Raymond) of Saint-Louis, Claudine Richard (Thaddé) of Saint-Louis, and Nicole Thébeau of Lakeside Estate; her sons, Paul Thébeau of Moncton and Claude Thébeau of Saint-Ignace; her sisters, Ida Guimond of Sainte-Antoine, Ginette Richard of Richibucto and Anna Comeau (Noël) of Saint-Ignace; her brothers, Paul-Emile Richard (Gisele) of Saint-Ignace, Antoine Richard (Pat) of Saint-Ignace, Alexi Richard (Eileen) of Richibucto and Adelard Richard (Anne-Marie) of Saint-Ignace; her grandchildren, Annie, Marie-Josée, Caroline, Annabel, Marie-Eve and Rémi; her great-grandchildren, Malik, Noah, Mathéo, Chloe and Lincoln; as well has her extended family, nieces, nephews and friends.

Along with her parents, Maria was predeceased by her brothers, Gerard and Onile.

Donations in memory of Maria may be made to the Saint-Ignace-de-Loyola Roman Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Thompson's Funeral Home in Richibucto. Visitation will continue the following day, Friday, June 19, 2026, from 9:00 AM until departure for the service. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 10:30 AM at the Saint-Ignace-de-Loyola Roman Catholic Church in Saint-Ignace.
