ALDOUANE, NB - Germaine Comeau of Auberge du Soleil in Dieppe
(originally from Aldouane, NB) passed away at the Dr. Georges L.
Dumont University Hospital on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the age of
84.
Born in St. Charles, Germaine was the youngest daughter of
the late Antoine V. Daigle and Sarah (Léger) Daigle. Before
retiring, Germaine was employed at the Morgan's Rum
"Seagrams" Distillery. She attended St. Louis de Gonzague
Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto where she volunteered to decorate
the church, was a member of the CWL and the Golden Age Club. She acted
as President for the Daigle family reunion at the Congrès
mondial acadien in 2009.
She is survived by a daughter, Jackie Jaillet (Danny) of
Ste-Anne-de-Kent, NB and a son Mike (Jacqueline) McPhail of St Thomas,
NB. She will also be missed by her sister Cecile Pietraszko
(Pete) of Moncton as well as grandchildren, Ryan and Taylor Jaillet
and Sophie McPhail, and by her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Germaine was predeceased by her
husband, Roger Comeau of Aldouane, and by seven sisters: Beatrice,
Alma, Bernadette, Rose-Eva, Bertha, Aline, Marguerita and eight
brothers: Ben, Rene, Alphonse, Alderic, Romeo, Gerald, Ernest and
Roger (infant).
The family would like to thank Dr. Luc Cormier, the nursing
staff at the Dumont Hospital and staff at the Auberge du Soleil for
the great care and compassion.
If desired, memorial donations to The Heart and Stroke
Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto with
visitation on Tuesday, June 9 from 10 am until time of service. A
chapel service will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 2:00 pm at
Thompson Funeral Home.
