GALLOWAY, NB
– It is with heavy hearts that the family of Catherine Ann
Hudson, 92, of Galloway, announce her peaceful passing at her
residence on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Born in Springfield, Maine, she was
the daughter of the late Frederick McDonald and the late Hattie
(Tucker) McDonald.
Catherine
Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who
cherished her family above all else. She loved having her family and
friends around her kitchen table, hosting gatherings, and listening to
music. Her door was always open, and everyone was made to feel
welcome.
Catherine
Ann enjoyed knitting and took great pride in producing mittens and
socks for her children, grandchildren, and anyone else in need of a
warm pair. She was a dedicated member of the CWL, a former member of
The Rexton Lions Club and, for many years, led a hardworking team in
preparing twice annual take-out suppers for the local Catholic
Church.
Catherine
Ann loved a good card game and was not averse to winning. She was a
mother not only to her nine children but countless others whose lives
she touched. Catherine Ann will be deeply missed and lovingly
remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know
her.
Catherine
Ann leaves to mourn her daughters, Joanne Turner (Jim) of Richibucto,
Paula Vautour (Aris) of Galloway, Betty Comeau (Valery) of Richibucto,
Ginny Richard (late Gerald) of Aldouane and Lisa Wilson (Mark) of West
Branch; her sons, Tom Hudson (Marie-Thérèse) of
Galloway, Jack Hudson (Jean) of Prince William, Donnie Hudson (Alice)
of Moncton and Terry Hudson (Barbara) of Galloway; twenty-four
grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; her sisters, Mickey Symes
(Fred) of Smith’s Corner, Charlotte LeBlanc (Euclide) of
Fredericton, and Barbara Preston (Ralph) of Moncton; her brother,
Michael McDonald (Jean) of Saint John; sisters-in-law, Betty Roach,
Brenda McDonald and Mareta McDonald; brother-in-law, Omer LeBlanc; as
well as many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
As well as
her parents, Catherine Ann was predeceased by her beloved husband,
Thomas Hudson; her sisters, Mary, Frances, Aggie (Omer) and Ruth; her
brothers, Fred and Paul; and her grandson, Tommy.
