Richard
RICHIBOUCTOU-VILLAGE, NB –
It is with deep sadness that the family of Jacinte Richard announces
her peaceful passing on June 12, 2026, at the Saint John Regional
Hospital following a brief illness. Jacinte, daughter of the late
Charles and Hermine Richard, was 72 years old and had lived all her
life in Richibouctou-Village, where she was born.
She will be dearly missed by her partner, Georg Prokott; her
son, Jean-Luc LeBlanc (Monette) of Saint-Louis; her daughter, Jessika
LeBlanc (Jean-Michel) of Village-des-Poiriers; and her grandchildren,
Sébastien and Mariève. She also leaves to mourn
Jean-Paul LeBlanc, the father of her children; her brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law, Eugen Prokott (Lotti), Monique Robichaud, Marie-Jeanne
Babin (Brian), Guy LeBlanc (Lucille), Maria LeBlanc, and Albert
Richard (Jeannette); as well as her nieces and nephews, extended
family, and many friends.
Jacinte found joy in tranquility. She loved gardening,
photography, especially of animals and birds, her family history, as
well as conversations with family and friends. She adored cats and
appreciated savoring her coffee in the presence of Mack and Kitty.
Although reserved, Jacinte had a good sense of humour and enjoyed a
good laugh.
Besides her parents, Jacinte was predeceased by her brother,
Rosaire Richard, and her sister-in-law, Rose-Marie.
The family is deeply grateful for the good cardiac care and
supportive guidance received at the Saint John Regional Hospital,
CHU-Dumont, and Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the
Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the foundation of any of the
hospitals mentioned above.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 19, 2026,
at 2:00 PM at the St. Antoine-de-Padoue Roman Catholic Church in
Richibouctou-Village.
Arrangements are in the professional care of
Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto, NB
